People uprooted from their homes just weeks ago by catastrophic floods are being forced to evacuate again as flooding returns to northern NSW. In flood-hit Lismore, the Wilsons River rose several metres on Tuesday. The Bureau of Meteorology initially warned the river could reach 10.6 metres but has revised it down to 9.7 metres, a level below the town's levee. Residents were told on Tuesday to leave central Lismore, low-lying areas of East Lismore and Girards Hill but the SES has advised they can cautiously return as the waters drop.
